The application provides a comprehensive tool for finding words suitable for games such as Wordfeud and crossword puzzles, and can also teach users new vocabulary. It allows for sorting results based on criteria such as word length, alphabetic order, or word score, enabling users to identify not necessarily the longest but the most strategically advantageous words. The search functionality accommodates the use of seven letters and supports matching letter placements and word segments on the board.

Users can look up words via online sources or by consulting the local dictionary through an integrated Copy/Define/Lookup menu.

The word length selector proves useful for finding appropriate words for games like Draw Something. Searches are case-insensitive and insensitive to diacritical marks; for example, typing "geent" will also display results for "geënt."

The new "Test word" feature allows users to verify the existence of specific words and identify potential words with missing letters. This function is particularly valuable for game scenarios, enabling players to determine which additional letters are needed. Users can denote a single missing letter with a dot (.), or multiple missing letters with an @ sign. This feature is also applicable to crossword puzzle preparation.

The "Slide Over" mode facilitates multitasking by allowing the Wordsfinder to be used alongside other applications, such as Wordfeud or puzzle apps, on compatible iPads running iOS 13 or later. To activate this feature: 1. Place Wordsfinder in the Dock; 2. Open the desired app; 3. Swipe up from the bottom to access the Dock; 4. Tap and hold the Wordsfinder icon, then drag it onto the screen; 5. Position it on either side as desired.

This application functions offline, including a database of over one million words, making it useful during travel or in environments lacking internet connectivity.

Privacy considerations are addressed as the app does not collect or share any user information with external entities.
